The TV Does Not Love You

With the possible exception of Christian programming, you won*t get anything that resembles love from the TV. It will never satisfy your greatest needs which are to love and be loved.

Would you rather spend time with the One who loves you or something that does not love you at all? The One who loves you most is of course, God. The TV does not love you. God wants to love you through His people and He wants you to love them. The TV does not need your love. God wants your love and deserves it and you owe it to other people. Would you rather spend time loving the people God wants you to love or watching TV?

Are you loving God when you watch TV? Are you giving God what He deserves when you watch TV? Are you loving other people when you are watching TV? Are you cutting off the love of God when you watch TV? Are you cutting off the love of other people when you watch TV? Do you even know that you need the love of God? Do you know that you need to love others? Are you seeking love when you watch TV? Are you avoiding love when you watch TV? Are you refusing to love when you watch TV? Are you accomplishing anything worthwhile when you watch TV? Are you accomplishing anything for God when you watch TV? Are you satisfying your flesh when you watch TV or are you filled with the Spirit?

The TV wants some things from you. It wants you to support its sponsors financially. It wants to entertain you but entertainment is a poor substitute for love. It wants to cut you off from the love of God and it wants to prevent you from loving others. It wants to influence you. It wants your time. It wants to determine what you believe. It wants to control you. It wants to lower your moral standards. It wants you to serve it. It wants to deceive you. It wants to replace God in your heart and life. IT WANTS TO BE YOUR GOD! If you are not receiving love or giving it by watching TV, you should turn it off.
